AI Incoming: Leveraging ChatGPT for Marketing Success

y now, you’ve probably heard of the OpenAI chatbot, ChatGPT that was released late 2022 and has since taken the world by storm. Within a week of its release, there were already a million registered users with many more trying to sign up if the almost constant “at capacity” message displayed on the chatbot’s website is anything to go by.

It has become apparent that there is a myriad of uses and is very much a “get out what you put in” kind of service with the chatbot capable of producing results from surprisingly specific prompts.

As such, learning how and what to specify in the input is key to using it effectively. The tool will become more valuable over time for numerous industries, including marketing, with many marketers already making good use of it in the short 60 or so days since it launched.

Our team has compiled some creative applications for ChatGPT, and we think these are some of best ways marketers can/have use(ed) the service to their advantage to maximize success:

  1. Social media copy generation

With the chatbot capable of accepting very specific input, it can quickly produce copy examples and ideas for tweets, Instagram captions, posts and more.

2. Blog title and summary generation

While the chatbot is capable of producing blogs and other lengthy content pieces, it can often sound generic and marketers might want to refrain from using it that way, at least not without editing. However, if you have a piece written and need a summary or title, ChatGPT can help.

3. Keyword targeting

ChatGPT can act as a thesaurus and generate a comprehensive list of alternative keywords from just one, helping you optimize your SEO or paid search efforts.
